MRT Instructions

The Mediator Release Test, processed by Oxford Biomedical Technologies, tests your blood against 146 foods and 30 chemicals. Where to Get Your Blood Draw

Because this is a specialty test, Quest and LabCorp will not draw for this test. You have three options:

OPTION 1: INDEPENDENT BLOOD DRAW CENTERS

Oxford has made arrangements with hundreds of independent draw locations across the country. Choose this option. Find an independent draw site staffed with trained and certified phlebotomist near you by clicking here.

When calling a draw site, be sure to tell them “I need a blood draw for the MRT Kit and I am bringing a draw kit mailer with me.” If you need to, tell them “This is for a send-out test with Oxford Biomedical Technologies.” You are not asking them to perform a blood test, only to draw blood and then ship it to Oxford for testing.

OPTION 2: TRAVALAB MOBILE PHLEBOTOMY

TravaLab is a mobile phlebotomy organization that offers convenient blood draws in the comfort of your own home. Fees are $80. Please click this link to schedule an appointment.

OPTION 3: LOCAL CLINICS OR SMALL LABS

Some urgent cares or independent labs will perform the draw. Always call ahead to confirm.

Day of Testing

This is a non-fasted blood test, so go about your normal routine. Bring your entire MRT kit with you, including the box, blood collection and shipping instructions, and the phlebotomist should take care of everything else! The phlebotomist must ship your sample the same day as collection.
